Due to overwhelming response, the Friends of the Sayreville Library are currently only accepting donations of children's and non-fiction (non-textbook) books. Donations of calendars, notepads and greeting/note cards are also being accepted.

Great news! The Sayreville Library circulates passes for the Grounds for Sculpture, the Intrepid Air, Sea, and Space Museum, and the Battleship New Jersey.

Crochet What You Love

Wednesdays, December 5 and 19, 6:30PM
Whether you're new to crocheting or are experienced but need help with a pattern, come to our weekly lessons! Teens welcome, too!

This event is free, but space is limited and registration here is required.

UPDATE: The December drive has been rescheduled. Our next blood drive will be Monday, January 7th.

Appointments are available here, but walk-ins are welcome!

Technology Classes

The Library offers basic level computer courses all year to help everyone embrace technology--not run from it! Do you have a family member or friend who needs to learn how to use a computer? Maybe you yourself could benefit from a beginners course? Let the library help! The Sayreville Public Library offers FREE basic computer instruction many times throughout the year. Please use the online classes year-round here!

Registration Policies & Class Prerequisites: First preference goes to Sayreville patrons who have not taken these classes before. You must know how to use the mouse and keyboard to take classes. Adults only, please.

Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite Classes for all levels may be accessed year-round online through our partner, Universal Class. - Try our online classes here!

The Contagious Optimism Wellness Group

Feeling down or discouraged? Want to increase your positivity? You need...The Contagious Optimism Wellness Group! Dr. Colleen Georges, a co-author of the Bestselling book, Contagious Optimism by David Mezzapelle, will be facilitating this monthly wellness group designed to help grow your optimism and your overall happiness. "Positive Forward Thinking" is the ability to find the silver lining in every cloud no matter how difficult yesterday or today may be. Nowadays, many people have lost confidence in themselves and the world around them due to personal hardship along with economic and political uncertainty worldwide. However, each of us possesses personal strengths and wisdom that we can draw from in order to experience our world with increased hope, kindness, and gratitude. Through the sharing of excerpts from Contagious Optimism along with group members' personal stories, plus simple yet impactful positive psychology exercises, Dr. Georges will lead group members in boosting positivity and perseverance. ESL Conversation Group

The group meets Thursdays at 10:00AM. Spring session will begin in January 2019.

SPRING 2019: How to Register: Interested ESL learners need to attend a registration with the organization Literacy New Jersey, be tested by them, and then be placed into a class/group that is appropriate for their learning level. The tutors of this group have been instructed to not allow walk-ins since everyone now needs to register and get assessed before they can enter the program. Sayreville registration will be Thursday, January 10th at 10:00AM.

The Creative Writing Group

The App Is Called LMxPress Plus --It's Fun to Use and Fun to Say!

The Sayreville Library has an updated mobile app to put the library at your fingertips. From any mobile phone connected to the Internet you can instantly tap into library resources, anytime, anywhere. You can search the library catalog, check your account, ask a question, find events and more. The app even offers a feature called BookLook that allows scan an ISBN barcode anywhere you are to see if the library owns the title. If you're at a bookstore you can just scan the ISBN, see if we own it and if we do place a hold on it right from your phone. To access the library's mobile app, search "LMxPRESS PLUS" in your device's marketplace and download the app. The Sayreville Library will be within the LMxPRESS group of libraries.
